Detailed Itinerary

Your Rwanda adventure begins with a morning pick-up in Kigali and a scenic transfer northwards to the Volcanoes region, passing through Rwanda's famously beautiful rolling hills and countryside. Upon arrival, check in at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge and enjoy lunch. The remainder of the afternoon is dedicated to relaxation at the lodge, allowing you to unwind and prepare for the exciting gorilla trekking experience the following day. After an early breakfast, proceed to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and a mandatory gorilla trekking briefing. Meet your ranger guides and receive important information on gorilla behaviour, trekking procedures and conservation guidelines. Begin your trek into the lush forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of one of Rwanda's habituated mountain gorilla families. The trek may take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Once you find the gorillas, enjoy a truly extraordinary wildlife encounter as you observe them in their natural habitat. Watch their fascinating social interactions, from playful juveniles to protective adults, while maintaining the required distance and following your ranger's instructions. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day's adventure before making your way back to the lodge. After returning to Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge, spend the afternoon and evening relaxing and reflecting on this remarkable experience. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the lodge. After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic transfer back to Kigali. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an important historical and educational site that preserves the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and highlights Rwanda's journey of remembrance, reconciliation and rebuilding. Continue to a local art gallery, where you can experience Rwanda's contemporary artistic expression through paintings, sculptures, crafts and other creative works.
