Detailed Itinerary

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel, residence or agreed location in Nairobi. Meet your professional safari guide and depart for Amboseli National Park, travelling through the scenic landscapes of southern Kenya. The journey takes you through local towns, villages and open countryside before arriving at the park. As you approach Amboseli, the landscape opens into vast savannah plains with the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro often dominating the horizon on clear days. Enter the park and begin your first en route game drive, allowing you to start experiencing the wildlife even before reaching your lodge. Amboseli is particularly famous for its large elephant population, many of which can be seen moving across the plains with Kilimanjaro as a spectacular backdrop. Proceed to Ol Tukai Lodge for check-in and lunch. After some time to relax, head out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the park's wetlands, open plains and acacia-covered areas in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes and numerous bird species. The late afternoon is particularly rewarding as wildlife becomes more active in the cooler temperatures. Return to the lodge as the sun sets over the Amboseli plains. Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before setting out for a full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park. The early morning offers some of the best wildlife-viewing conditions, with animals active before the heat of the day. Search for large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and other wildlife. The game drive takes you across different habitats within the park, including open grasslands, seasonal swamps and areas around the park's water sources. Amboseli's wetlands attract large numbers of animals and provide excellent photographic opportunities. On clear mornings, enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, particularly when the clouds lift to reveal the mountain's snow-covered summit. Continue with your game drive and enjoy lunch in the park or return to the lodge for lunch, depending on the day's wildlife movements and guide's recommendation. In the afternoon, continue exploring Amboseli, taking advantage of the changing light and increased wildlife activity. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning your journey towards Tsavo West National Park. The transfer takes you through the changing landscapes of southern Kenya, gradually transitioning from the open plains of Amboseli to Tsavo's rugged volcanic terrain. Enter Tsavo West and begin exploring the park along the way. The park is renowned for its dramatic scenery, including volcanic hills, lava formations, rocky outcrops and expansive bushland. Continue towards Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, one of the classic safari lodges in Tsavo West. The lodge offers beautiful views across the surrounding wilderness and provides a peaceful setting for your stay. After check-in, enjoy lunch and some time to relax. Depending on the arrival time and park conditions, you may have an opportunity for an optional afternoon game drive. Rise early and enjoy breakfast before departing for a morning game drive in Tsavo West. The cooler morning hours provide excellent opportunities to encounter wildlife as animals begin their day. Search for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and other species while travelling through Tsavo's diverse landscapes. Continue your en route guided game drive towards Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya's largest protected areas and one of the country's most iconic wilderness destinations. After entering Tsavo East, proceed with enroute guided game drive toward your hotel for check in, lunch and some relaxation. Afterwards begin your afternoon game drive. Tsavo East is famous for its vast open wilderness and the distinctive red colour of its soil, which gives the park's elephants their famous red-dusted appearance. Keep your eyes open for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and numerous antelope species. After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive across Tsavo East National Park. With the entire day dedicated to exploring the park, your guide will take you through different wildlife areas depending on animal movements, recent sightings and road conditions. Explore the expansive savannah in search of Tsavo's famous red elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes and other wildlife. Tsavo East's enormous size and relatively wild character make every game drive feel like a true expedition into the African wilderness. Visit areas around water sources and riverine habitats, where wildlife frequently gathers, especially during dry periods. Bird enthusiasts will also have opportunities to spot a variety of resident and migratory bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated location in the park before continuing with your afternoon game drive. As the afternoon progresses, enjoy the changing colours of the Tsavo landscape and watch wildlife becoming increasingly active as temperatures begin to fall. Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before embarking on your final morning game drive in Tsavo East. The morning drive provides one last opportunity to encounter wildlife in the cool early hours. Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and other animals as they begin their morning activities. After the game drive, return to the camp, freshen up and check out. Begin your transfer towards Voi SGR Station, enjoying the final views of Tsavo's wilderness along the way. Arrive at Voi in good time for your scheduled SGR train to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Nairobi Terminus, your representative will meet you and provide a transfer to your selected Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, depending on your onward travel arrangements.
