Detailed Itinerary
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by your professional safari driver-guide. After a comprehensive safari briefing, depart Nairobi and journey north through Kenya's scenic central highlands, passing lush tea and coffee plantations, fertile farmlands, and the bustling towns of Karatina and Nanyuki.
As you continue north, the landscape gradually transforms into the rugged semi-arid terrain of Samburu County, offering a striking contrast to the central highlands. Upon arrival at Samburu National Reserve, enjoy your first exciting game drive en route to Ashnil Samburu Camp.
After checking in and enjoying a delicious lunch, take some time to relax while watching wildlife that frequently visits the river near the camp.
Later in the afternoon, set out on your first game drive through this remarkable reserve, renowned for its distinctive wildlife species found only in northern Kenya. Keep an eye out for the rare Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and the elegant gerenuk, collectively known as the "Samburu Special Five." The reserve is also home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, hippos, and over 450 species of birds.
Return to the camp as the sun sets over the acacia-dotted landscape and enjoy dinner before settling in for your overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive, when wildlife is at its most active and the cool morning temperatures provide excellent conditions for photography. The golden morning light beautifully illuminates the reserve's dramatic landscapes and the winding Ewaso Nyiro River, which serves as the lifeline for the area's abundant wildlife.
Spend the morning exploring different sections of the reserve with your experienced guide, who will help track predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs while sharing fascinating insights into the behavior of the animals and the unique ecology of northern Kenya. Samburu is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, often seen crossing the river or gathering beneath the shade of acacia trees.
Return to the camp for breakfast and enjoy some leisure time by the swimming pool or from the comfort of your luxury tent, overlooking the river where elephants, baboons, and antelope frequently come to drink.
Following lunch, head out for another extensive afternoon game drive in search of wildlife you may not have encountered earlier in the day. As dusk approaches, return to Ashnil Samburu Camp for dinner and another peaceful evening in the heart of the reserve.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Samburu and drive south through the scenic landscapes of Laikipia County towards the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Africa's leading wildlife conservation success stories. Located at the foothills of Mount Kenya, the conservancy offers spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and world-class conservation initiatives.
Arrive at Sweetwaters Serena Camp in time for lunch. The camp overlooks a busy waterhole that attracts elephants, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, and numerous antelope species throughout the day, providing exceptional wildlife viewing directly from the camp.
In the afternoon, embark on an exciting game drive across the conservancy. Ol Pejeta is home to the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa and provides sanctuary to the world's last two remaining northern white rhinos, making it one of the most important wildlife conservation areas on the continent. During your drive, you may also encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, giraffes, buffaloes, and countless plains game.
Depending on time, you may also visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where rescued chimpanzees can be observed in a protected natural environment. The sanctuary provides lifelong care for chimpanzees rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking and abusive captivity, offering visitors an inspiring insight into conservation efforts.
Return to Sweetwaters Serena Camp in the evening for dinner and an unforgettable overnight stay in this exceptional conservancy.

As you explore the conservancy, your guide will continue searching for any species you may have missed while sharing stories about Ol Pejeta's remarkable conservation achievements and the ongoing efforts to protect endangered wildlife.
Later in the morning, depart the conservancy and begin your journey back to Nairobi, passing through the fertile farmlands of central Kenya. Enjoy lunch en route (or upon arrival, depending on timing) before arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon.
You will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of an unforgettable safari through two of Kenya's most unique and wildlife-rich destinations.
