Detailed Itinerary

Your safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe and transfer to Entebbe International Airport in time for your scheduled domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip. Upon arrival at Kihihi, you will be met by your safari representative and transferred by road towards Buhoma, one of the main gateways to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The journey takes you through the beautiful countryside of southwestern Uganda, characterized by rolling hills, green plantations, local villages and spectacular scenery. Arrive at Buhoma Lodge, situated close to Bwindi Forest. After check-in, settle into your accommodation and enjoy lunch while taking in the peaceful forest surroundings. In the afternoon, you may choose to undertake an optional guided forest walk at an additional cost. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, explore the forest while looking out for bird species, butterflies, monkeys and diverse plant life. Alternatively, spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge and preparing for the following day's gorilla trekking adventure. Enjoy dinner and an early rest at the lodge. Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before proceeding to the Buhoma gorilla trekking briefing point. Meet the Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and trackers and receive a briefing on the trekking procedures, safety guidelines and responsible gorilla-viewing practices. Enter the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of your allocated gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Along the way, you may encounter colorful birds, butterflies, monkeys and other forest species. Once the gorilla family is located, enjoy your allocated viewing time observing these magnificent animals as they feed, play, groom and interact with each other. This is an extraordinary wildlife experience and offers memorable opportunities for photography and appreciating gorilla conservation. After the trek, return to the starting point and transfer back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later in the afternoon, enjoy an immersive Batwa cultural experience. Learn about the history, traditions and way of life of the Batwa people, including their historical connection with the forest. The experience may include traditional songs, dances, storytelling and demonstrations of traditional skills. Return to Buhoma Lodge for dinner and your final overnight stay in Bwindi. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning your transfer to Kihihi Airstrip. The journey provides another opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of southwestern Uganda.
