Your safari begins with a morning pick-up and departure from Kigali, travelling southwest through Rwanda's scenic countryside towards Nyungwe. En route, stop in Nyanza, the former royal capital of Rwanda, for a fascinating visit to the Former King's Palace. Explore the traditional royal residence and gain insight into Rwanda's monarchy, traditions and cultural heritage. Meet your ranger guides before entering the misty forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Once you locate the gorilla family, enjoy a magical and unforgettable encounter as you observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
